Ameris Bank is offering eligible first-time homebuyers up to $12,500 toward a down payment and closing costs through the Ameris Down Payment Grant Program.

Program Highlights:

• Eligible first-time homebuyers can receive up to 4% of the purchase price, with a maximum of $12,500, to use toward a down payment and closing costs. The assistance is provided in the form of a second mortgage that is forgivable after 5 years in your home.
• Funds are only eligible to be used in conjunction with a Fannie Mae HomeReady® or Freddie Mac Home Possible® first mortgage program originated through Ameris Bank. This program offers down payments as low as 3%.
• Income limits and location restrictions apply.
• Homebuyer education programs are required to set you up for success.
• The property must be the homebuyer’s primary residence.
• Borrowers must contribute $500.00 from their funds.

Additional Availability – Ameris Bank is providing $20k in Lender Credits to individuals buying or moving out of a Majority-Minority Census Track area. These funds will be used to buy down borrower’s interest rates and assist with closing costs. Borrowers are responsible for their down payment of at least 3.5% of the purchase price.
